Photographic Competition - Autumn 2014
 The subject: "My Felmersham" or "My Radwell"
The photographs were judged by Peter Hartop who has assumed that all the photographs were taken in the vicinity of Felmersham & Radwell. All the photographs that were entered in the competition are published below and they were judged on the following criteria:
  
    1.  the subject matter and composition
    2.  the sharpness of the photograph
    3.  the correct exposure
    4.  the framing of the picture and a horizon level (many “landscape” pictures could have been improved
          by squaring up the horizon and some judicious cropping)

  Leap of Faith

“Young Robin” - Pin sharp, no distractions, good colour, very professional result.

“Country Park” - Dramatic dark sky, good directional sunlight, swans add perspective and interest.

“Leap of faith” - Not wishing to encourage this practice as many would say it is dangerous but the photo has caught the action of the moment and the sloping horizon can be forgiven for this type of photo.

needs squaring up and cropping.
River Scene is good but overexposed and needs squaring up. Canoeing Starting Line overexposed.

The Bridge at Sunset is very “constablesque” but the wires just spoil it (needs Photoshop).

Church Reflection is almost perfect but tree missing top and better framing would have made this a contender.

Cormorant – another pin sharp bird photograph just spoilt by the distracting stick on the head.
