On Saturday 29th June 2019 Revd Andrea Maffei was ordained priest at St Albans Cathedral. During her training she was mentored by, from left to right: Fr Reuben, Revd Tom, Revd Andrea, Fr Mac and Revd Robert. Bottom photo: Taken during the ordination service. On Wednesday 10 July 2019 Bedford Morris Men were dancing at The Three Cranes, Turvey. Photo left is Tim Durrant who is dressed as the "fool". The fool provides an amusing link between the audience and the dancers.

From the mid C18 Pavenham was famous for rush work using rush harvested from the River Ouse. The photograph shows a rush collage supported on a hazel-wood frame displayed in Pavenham Church.

Amazing!
The left hand photo was taken in the field opposite the school on 24 May 2019. The right hand photo was taken on 26 July 2019. In just 2 months this field of maize has gown to a height of up to 8ft!

Felmersham Wedding
Charlotte Viczko and Tom Molyneux were married at St Mary's Church, Felmersham
on Saturday 3 August 2019 by the Revd Dr Vicky Raymer.
The reception was held at the Sharnbrook Hotel.

Felmersham and Radwell 21st Autumn Show and Art Exhibition was held on Sunday 8th September 2019 in Pinchmill Hall. There were a good number of entries in the show and the displayed art work by the Felmersham Art Group was of a very high standard. Teas and cakes were provided by Felmersham and Radwell WI.

The cup winners were clockwise from top left:
Monique Eyre-Smith: The Show Pate for gaining the highest number of firsts in the show. Pat Keeble: Best in the Show. Denise Canning: The Amy Rootham Cup; Holly Lindsey-White: The Rose Bowl.

Our thanks go to Maggie and Chris Spoor and their helpers for once again organising a very successful show.

A tanker trailer used to deliver biofertiliser
Biogen's Twinwoods facility processes 38,000 tonnes of food waste a year. The naturally created biogas is used as a fuel to generate 2MW of electricity. Residue from the process is a nutrient rich biofertiliser, which is pasteurised to kill any pathogens, and stored in large covered tanks. It is applied twice a year on farmland in place of fossil fuel derived fertilisers. August 2019.

Congratulations to the Revd Reuben Preston and Stephen who were married at St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Glasgow on Tuesday 10 Sept, the 6th anniversary of their Civil Partnership. They were married by the Provost of the Cathedral, the Very Rev. Kelvin Holdsworth.

Apparently they are now deemed to have been married 6 years by British Law!  According to British Law it is back dated to the day of their Civil Partnership. Reuben has therefore achieved the accolade of being the longest serving married gay priest in the C of E.
Reuben was Rector of the Sharnbrook Benefice (which includes Felmersham) from 2016 to 2018.

These two young men were photographed sitting on a Royal Enfield motor cycle at the future entrance to Marriotts Close.
Dating the photo: The motor cycle is a Royal Enfield model 201, they were built onwards from 1919. The gate and style (behind the pillion passenger) are in much better condition than a photo taken in the same place in the 1940's. The Bedfordshire registration number is NM4703. The evidence suggests a date of early to mid 1930's

This Halloween Spider is just a tad larger than the house spiders you see during early autumn, scurrying around the house looking for a mate.

On Monday 4th November 2019 the Revd Paolo di Leo was collated by the Bishop of Bedford, The Rt. Revd Richard Atkinson, and installed as Rector of the Benefice of Sharnbrook, Felmersham and Knotting with Souldrop by the Archdeacon of Bedford, The Venerable Dave Middlebrook. The left photo shows the collation by the bishop (left) and the installation and induction by the archdeacon (right). The photo on the right is of the Revd Paolo Di Leo.
