Traffic problems |
Specific problems
cited were speeding traffic through the villages and over Radwell and
Felmersham bridges, large buses in restricted narrow village roads
(particularly, but not limited to Pavenham Road) , no safe crossing
place in The High Road and the use of Moor End Road in Radwell as
access to the stables and lakes.
Many suggestions were received regarding the solution to the problems
with the use of speed-sensitive ‘slow down’ signs gaining most
support. Other suggestions included enforcing existing speed limits,
creating traffic calming devices, re-routing school buses, traffic
lights on Radwell Bridge, establishing a lollipop crossing at school
start and finish times and using a gate or bollards to enforce the no
through road status of Moor End Road. |
Ensure
existing traffic restrictions are obeyed.
Conduct
comprehensive traffic survey.
Encourage parishioners to walk within the Parish.
Work
with relevant authorities to provide solutions acceptable to
parishioners.

Need for parking facilities in the
Parish. |
More schoolchildren being delivered to
the Lower School by car and bus has created the need for a safe
drop-off area and parking zone. Village Hall events also require
parking spaces. Two thirds of respondents thought that more parking
spaces were required near Pinchmill Hall and Lower School.
Comments were also received on the
severe lack of parking for visitors particularly near the Church and
river. |
Identify potential
parking sites.
Work with partners
to create sites.
